Managed Execution

Managed Execution is the controlled work stage after authorization and before an authorized result is delivered.

Purpose

AP&T uses Managed Execution to ensure that approved recruiting, alignment, referral-pool, position, or reporting activity is performed only within the authorized scope. Authorization determines whether work may proceed. Managed Execution records and controls how that work is performed.

Managed Execution does not expand authorization, create new authority, approve disclosure, contact attorneys, publish materials, or deliver results outside the approved scope.

Managed Execution Activities

  • Confirm the applicable authorization decision
  • Review the authorized scope and excluded activity
  • Perform only the approved managed task
  • Document staff action taken
  • Identify any issue requiring further authorization
  • Prepare the matter for authorized result review
  • Preserve the boundary between staff work and result delivery

Execution rule

Staff may execute only what has been authorized. If the work requires a broader scope, additional disclosure, different use, candidate contact, publication, or a new result, the matter must return to authorization review before proceeding.

Relationship to Authorized Results

Managed Execution prepares the work. Authorized Results controls what may be delivered. A completed managed task does not itself authorize delivery of every draft, note, comparison, observation, file, or internal conclusion created during execution.
