Professional Engagement
Purpose: Establishes the professional engagement and its governing context.
Primary question: Why is the professional work being undertaken?
The Verolex Professional Framework explains how professional work is established through Professional Engagement, performed through Professional Execution, and completed through Authorized Results. Each component performs a distinct function while remaining connected through continuous governance.
Professional work involves different kinds of decisions, information, responsibilities, activities, reviews, approvals, and results. The Professional Framework separates those functions so that each may be defined, assigned, reviewed, and governed appropriately.
The framework also preserves continuity. The professional objective established during engagement remains connected to the services, records, communication, tasks, workflows, Verification, Authorization, and Authorized Results produced during execution.
The components are connected, but they are not interchangeable. A Professional Record is not a Professional Task. Verification is not Authorization. An execution output is not an Authorized Result until the applicable approval requirements have been satisfied.
At its highest level, the Verolex professional process has three connected stages.
Establishes why the work is being undertaken, who is involved, which services are relevant, and how responsibility will be allocated.
Converts the engagement into governed work through Professional Services, Records, Communicators, Tasks, Workflows, Verification, and Authorization.
Communicates or delivers the approved professional outcome within its authorized purpose, audience, scope, and conditions.
Professional Engagement establishes the governing basis for the work before execution begins.

The following pages explain the framework from different perspectives. They do not create additional execution components.
Explains how professional work progresses from engagement through execution to Authorized Results.
Explains how the framework components relate to, depend upon, and constrain one another.
Explains how scope, authority, responsibility, Verification, Authorization, and continuing control operate throughout the framework.
Explains how professional work continues through use, revision, reauthorization, retention, supersession, and archive.
The framework identifies the functions required for governed professional work. It does not mean that every engagement follows an identical mechanical path or uses every component in the same way.
The applicable objective, audience, service model, Professional Services, delivery responsibilities, records, tasks, workflows, review requirements, and authorization standards depend upon the professional context.
No component creates automatic operational authority. Professional work advances only through the scope, permissions, responsibilities, review, and approval applicable to the engagement.
The Professional Architecture page explains why the framework separates engagement, execution, governance functions, and Authorized Results, and how those components remain connected.
